High Tider Matchmaker - Cozy 1 Bedroom Home in the Heart of the Harkers Island

"This place was our home base while we explored the south outer banks. The locals are super friendly (if you are) and will point you in the right direction for food, fishing spots, rock/tooth/shell hounding beaches, and anything else you could need or want. Cody was a great host and was super quick and helpful with communication. The home is small and looks well kept from the exterior, where there is a camera facing the driveway (we prefer this but I know not all do). The inside is cozy and clean but dog and human parents beware almost all the linens/towels/decorations are white ;) There was a scent plug in that we took out for the stay and put pack in before leaving, the house smelled perfectly normal without it. The kitchen had a standard fridge/freezer which was great for storing cooler stuff. We used the coffee maker and it made coffee 10/10. Used the back porch to hang up suits and towels overnight to dry which was nice. Other reviews already talk about the shower, it’s not great. Biggest issue was the bathroom door wouldn’t shut. I mean we tried about 70 different ways and then just gave up and played the tv loud when we had to poop. Literally the only mid thing about this place is the bathroom. So to all my hot girls with tummy issues… be warned. Both the pull out and bed were comfy. One linen that was pulled from the chest was a bit dirty with dog hair and a little mud (?) Overall we loved it, better than a hotel if you are like us and want to be tf away from people."

"I am a caregiver for my 99 and 98 year old parents. It took a village to cover their care while I was gone, and this cottage, community and peaceful surroundings were just the thing to revive my soul and send me home with renewed vigor and perspective.Not only did we spend a week fishing, crabbing, reading, napping, sunbathing and crafting, but the community invited us to a picnic in the park for July 4th.This is our fourth stay and have already booked a week for next summer...maybe we'll stay two!?Thank you Brenda and Richard for your kindness!"

"We spent 3 nights in August, enjoyed the pier to fish and the covered porch just to wind down. We wanted to use the canoes but we didn't get the time. Very clean space and nice kitchen !!! We are returning a second time...for a peaceful retreat.. it will be when its cooler.... looking forward to it!!"

Magnolia House Bed & Breakfast

"If you plan to visit Oriental, you must stay at Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast! The innkeepers are so friendly and accommodating. They greeted me as I arrived and took me on a tour of the house explaining the available amenities. The house has a wrap around porch, perfect for relaxing in the evening (I stayed in August and was surprised by the mild evening temperature). I had to leave early morning and typically do not eat breakfast so they had breakfast bars and fruit available for me to grab and go. They also have a coffee and tea bar available 24/7 with snacks, wine, and beer. The entire house was beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable that once my head hit the pillow, I didn’t wake up until my alarm went off. I stayed in the Roe Suite and web pictures do not do it justice. It’s a large suite with two entrances, one leading directly to the room that has the drinks and snacks (very convenient). The sitting area has a large comfortable couch, tv, and bookshelves filled with books. The bath, with tiled floors, full-length mirror, large double sink counter space, separate shower and large tub, is as large as the bedroom! And I have to mention the location, right in the middle of town, walking distance to the waterfront, shops, and restaurants, and a short distance to the grocery store. The innkeepers have thought of everything including a welcome gift with chocolates and a package of Magnolia House coffee. I will definitely return."

"We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cottage! The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. It was the perfect place to unwind after spending the day exploring the island, fishing, or taking the ferry to Cape Lookout. The peaceful location was one of our favorite parts of the trip. We enjoyed quiet mornings with coffee and beautiful coastal views, and the evenings were just as relaxing. The cottage was well-maintained, thoughtfully furnished, and truly felt like a home away from home. The host was friendly, responsive, and made the entire experience easy from check-in to check-out. If you’re looking for a quiet coastal escape with easy access to everything Harkers Island has to offer, we highly recommend staying here. We would definitely book this cottage again on our next visit!"

"Property and home is well maintained and very clean. Perfect spot for direct beach access. Home interior is well laid out and a tastefully decorated beach cottage. A roof top deck with expansive views of the water and surrounding area. A perfect private screened in porch with views of the water. I would definitely return to this property!"

"So first off people need to remember this is an RV experience and not a hotel experience when booking this place. If you’re not familiar with RV then you will not have proper expectations. Honestly, we thought this place was cute. We enjoyed waking to the sunrise every morning right by the water. We enjoyed the atmosphere, kayaks and loved the outdoor rain shower. I think overall our only complaint was that it was pretty warm in the RV. There is a portable AC but it is on the opposite side of the RV. Maybe centralize it and it would help with the temp control. The toilet did smell but RV toilets must have water kept in the bowl with deodorizer and as long as you did this it did not smell. This is something that must occur after the toilet is flushed every time. Like I said remember this is an RV. We would consider staying here again. Overall the romantic cuteness and amenities outweigh everything. Thanks for your hospitality."

Sunrise Sound Cottage | Dock, Fishing & Sunrises

"An absolutely stunning property! My son and his dad spent an entire day fishing off the dock and had an amazing time. Since we'd never fished in the ocean before, it was exciting to catch several fish species we'd never seen. We also caught a few crabs using the crab basket provided at the end of the dock, and even spotted a stingray swimming in the shallow water nearby.The home itself is beautiful, thoughtfully decorated, and stocked with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen to prepare meals. It was comfortable, well-maintained, and truly felt like a home away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely love to come back!"
